What's Up With That?

It looks like we're on another roller coaster ride with the stock market. Supposedly it was caused by a technical glitch but it is still going down. Other economic signs are up, they announced that employment is up for a change. I think it's actually a reaction to the continued oil spill and the uncertainty we face in the gulf coast states and all over the US. The economic impact may be felt for years.

Payback

My husband has always made fun of me using various face creams and other potions on my skin. Now the tables have turned. He has developed rosacea and went to the dermatologist. He now has to apply creams twice a day, plus sun block. He is spending as much time in the bathroom mirror as I do. Needless to say, I'm giving him a hard time. Payback is always fun.

Loving the New Kitchen

We finally finished our kitchen renovation. Compared to what some of my friends have told me it didn't take that long but it sure seemed like a long time to me. I shouldn't complain, the results are spectacular. I have so much room now that I actually have empty cabinet space. Everything was so cramped before that I found things that I thought I had lost. Now I don't have any excuse for not cooking healthy meals.

So Many Choices

I guess I must have been living under a rock. I hadn't realized how many choices there are in weight loss supplements now. I see information on the web about curvatrim and numerous other products. It looks like it will take a lot of research to find a weight loss pill that will work for me. I have a lot of reading to do to catch up on all of them.

I Love Spring...BUT

I love spring, but I hate the thought of bathing suit season being upon us. I was very lazy this winter and managed to pack on an extra ten pounds. Now I have to figure out how to lose it. I've been looking at Lipofuze and other diet supplements. I need to do something quickly or I will be out buying a whole new summer wardrobe.

Disaster in the Making

I have watching the news about the oil spill in the gulf closely. It is heartbreaking to think of the disaster than is in the making. Thousands of gallons of crude oil are pumping into the water every day. They MIGHT be able to stop it soon with their underwater equipment. If that doesn't work it will take months to fix. The shores all along the gulf at at risk. I hope it doesn't turn into another disaster on the scale of the one in Alaska.

I Never Knew

One side effect of my new twitter job is that I am learning a lot about the companies that I tweet for. I now know more than I ever wanted to about property management and being a landlord. Also, by the time this gig is over I will be aregular walking life insurance dictionary from tweeting for the insurance company. With all of this newly found knowledge I should start publishing some articles on the subjects and make a few more bucks.

Twitter Pro

I had added the title of professional twitterer to my resume. It may sound strange but there are actually companies out there that will pay me to write and post tweets for them. It can be challenging coming up with interesting tweets about things like disability insurance but I enjoy a challenge. My biggest fear is that I am going to post a tweet for the wardrobe stylist on the insurance company's account.

Finished Your Taxes Yet?

Have you finished your taxes yet? Tomorrow is the big day. I did mine Sunday. If you knew my past history you would be very proud of me for getting them finished that early. Traditionally I would be spending all night tonight pulling my hair and trying to get them finished. I even e-filed them as soon as I was done. My husband almost fainted when I told him it was all done.

His Turn

Since I work online at home I'm usually the one buying a new computer. This time it's my husband's turn. He has a laptop but still loves his desktop and his is on it's last leg. We spent the better part of the afternoon online looking at a new setup for him. He wants a large lcd monitor this time. He's a guy so he goes for the bigger is better thing just like he does in TVs. Whatever makes him happy, right?

New to Me

I saw something new this weekend. I saw someone smoking an e cigarette. I had no idea they existed but I guess it's to be expected. With all of the bans on smoking traditional cigarettes someone has to come out with an alternative. It works on a battery and has little cartridges that you put in. There is a mist produced but no smoke. Very interesting.

Did You Get One?

Did you join the crowd and get an iPad Saturday? Everyone was all a twitter about them on Saturday. I haven't placed my money down yet. I generally don't like to buy something when it is first introduced, there's usually bugs to be worked out. So far, most everyone seems to be happy with them. I've heard a few rumblings about wifi problems. I'm sure a few more things will surface. In the mean time, I'll keep using my laptop and netbook.

Time for a Little Shopping

Now that our kitchen renovation is almost complete it's time to do a little shopping. We expanded the kitchen and the new area has two windows in it. I need to find some blinds that will match the other ones in the family room. The two rooms are open to each other now so the whole area needs to co-ordinate. I guess I will be doing some shopping online tonight to see what I can find.

Working as a Freelancer

I've been working as a freelance writer for over a year now. It's funny the variety of jobs that I do. I thought I would just be writing web content for sites. I do that but I also tweet for companies on twitter. Right now I have an insurance company for a client. I tweet about getting free insurance quotes and other fun stuff about the company. It's not the most interesting job but it is certainly easy enough.

Coming to an End

Our kitchen renovation is finally coming to an end. The installer is upstairs installing the counter tops today. After that we get the tile back splash installed and then the plumber is scheduled to come on Tuesday. I can't believe that I will have my kitchen back next week. It's been so long since I cook a complete meal I'm not sure that I remember how to do it. Oh well, I'm sure it will all come rushing back to me.

It's Finally Here

We had a few false starts but it looks like spring is finally here on the gulf coast. The weather is glorious this week. As soon as I have time I plan to pull out the outdoor cushions for the patio and get comfortable. It is time to enjoy the outdoors and do some grilling. My outdoor kitchen has been neglected with the cold winter that we had this year. I am anxious to get back into cooking and eating outdoors.
